How did we do it?

After thirteen years in the food industry, I decided I had had enough of the 9-5 corporate lifestyle.  I wanted to take charge of my career and I wanted to work from home.  When I really sat down to think about my passion and interest, it turned to cooking and creating.  All those years of creating food products and testing their ingredients gave me the background I needed to establish a lab and begin developing a plan.

This business had to possess something special - exclusive products.  It also needed to serve a purpose for the community and betterment of society.  Thus, the Cooking Demonstration Show was born.  Not only would we promote our products and offer tastings, but we would educate the consumer.  Provide information on nutrition, culinary technique, and demystify the science behind foods.

For 8 months, I worked in my lab and my kitchen, using neighbors and friends as tasters to help me create top-notch unique flavors and the recipes to use them in.  Just 10 months after beginning the dream, we had stocked our warehouse with 12,000 units of nine different products.  We hosted our first show  October 2002 and our first booked party November 2002.  The response to our program was phenomenal.  People left feeling like they had really learned something.

Over the course of the year, my husband worked diligently to create our web site.  I'm sure you will marvel at his work!  He continues to modify and add new things every month, so please come back to admire his handywork!  We hope you will find the pages on this site useful and helpful in the kitchen.

Today, we carry more than 23 different items, and with the exception of our bread mixes, all are exclusive to us.  Our bread mixes are the result of a partnership with another home-grown company, Aunt Kay's Kitchen.  Our sales ventures now range from home parties to markets to fundraisers and more.  We travel to local libraries and park districts to conduct classes in cuisine and spices.  You can find our schedule under the Lecture Series Calendar.
